4 Key Mistakes in Real Estate Marketing
Strategic marketing is extremely necessary in an industry with lots of competition like real estate. Marketing can help stand out in the crowd and show audiences who you are, and why they should choose to work with you. Unfortunately, this isn’t always done right.
Here is a list of the top mistakes in real estate marketing:
No Planning
Marketing is not the kind of thing you can go into blindly, or make up as you go along.
Lengthy planning is required. You can’t create a strategy without an initial planning conversation.
Who is responsible for coming up with the strategy? What is the timeline? What are the goals? The planning stage is where everyone on your team provides insight and ideas, like a brainstorming session.
Once the planning meeting has happened, then you will be ready to create the strategy. Which leads me to my next point…
No Strategy
Marketing without a detailed strategy plan is simply a waste of everybody’s time. During the planning stage, you should come up with enough to create a detailed strategy plan of who, what, when, and why.
Make sure your goals are measurable and realistic, and be prepared to track your progress analytically.
Planning and strategy go hand in hand, the two don’t work without the other.
No Consistency
You can’t lose sight of your goals, ever. The only way to do that is to be consistent. Make sure that at least one action every day is working towards your goal.
When you start to become lazy, you grow further behind in your timeline, and increase your chances of dropping it altogether out of frustration.
Wrong Team
As in any business venture, you need the right team members in the right roles. Your marketing team should have a solid background in the field, with a proven track record for success so you can feel total confidence in them.
Marketing is a detailed process. Don’t underestimate how much time and effort is required from your team for it to be done right. Avoid these four common mistakes and you will see the results you’re looking for.
