Why Your First Impression is Critical for Real Estate Success

Why Your First Impression is Critical for Real Estate Success

A prospect will make a decision about working with you within 2 seconds of meeting you. So it’s safe to say that your first impression must be flawless if you want to successfully convert most leads into sales.

In real estate and in business your first impression can occur anywhere.

  • In the office
  • Over the phone
  • At an event
  • Online
  • On social media
  • Through a referral

Your marketing and online presence must illustrate your best. But it all begins with you as the real estate professional on how you will ‘wow’ prospects and make an incredible first impression.

Here are a few tips on how to make a great first impression:

1. Have A Plan

Being prepared and believing in what you are offering builds confidence, and that is a huge factor when influencing a person’s opinion. Before any contact with a lead or a client, understand what your goals are, list out the topics you want to discuss, and believe in your ability to deliver.

2. Rehearse Your Entrance

Once you have a plan in place, practice it! How are you going to stand? How are you going to greet the individual? How are you going to deliver your message? You should do this enough times until it becomes second nature.

3. Research The Individual

Research is one of the most important aspects of business. Whoever you are meeting with, it is critical to know something about them. If you are meeting with a person with a different cultural background this is even more important as other countries have different norms and ways of practicing business.

4. Keep Your Energy Up

Eating right and staying active has obvious benefits to your health, but they can also reward your career. People will respond better and have greater confidence in you if you have a lot of energy, appear capable and interested as opposed to looking tired and slow.
