Selling Real Estate Using Content

June 3, 2016 by Ken Goodfellow Leave a Comment

Using Content to Sell Real Estate

It’s no secret the majority of homebuyers are beginning their search for their next home online. Digital real estate is as competitive as many markets throughout North America. Posting listings on a website and sharing them through social media simply isn’t good enough anymore. In order to generate more exposure, leads and business REALTORS® need to upgrade their content strategy and seriously improve their quality content output.

What is quality content? Consider what the questions homebuyers and sellers are asking you. Produce content (written, visual, video, etc.) that answers those questions.

Seems simple, right? So why is content so important for your real estate marketing strategy?

Content Drives Traffic

Regularly publishing content on your website will increase the amount of traffic on your website. As long as your content resonates with your clientele and it’s optimized for web (consult Goodfellow Creative for questions on optimizing content) more potential buyers and sellers will see your listings, explore your content and be impressed by your expertise.

Demonstrates Expertise

As you actively share more content that is rich in quality and relevant in time sensitivity you will have demonstrated your expertise in your market. You will also develop a following throughout your city as a destination for the best real estate content for your area.

Qualifies Leads

It’s also possible to qualify leads with your content and how you share it. For example: posting a blog about recent statistics on your website with a form requesting more information about the home buying process would indicate the individual is thinking about buying and thinking about buying now.

Content itself won’t generate more business. REALTORS® need to actively share their content via email campaigns and social media amongst others channels. But when executed properly agents will benefit from more traffic, leads, and sales.
